PROBLEM
Liquid Robotics needed to replace an overloaded Drupal portal that made accessing customer resources unnecessarily complex. The new platform had to simplify access to documentation and training while meeting strict security requirements associated with proprietary and export-controlled information.
SOLUTION
We designed and developed the new Customer Portal from the ground up, covering discovery, information architecture, UX/UI, front-end and back-end development, and QA. Working within Liquid Robotics’ security requirements, we created a clear, scalable experience that helps customers find relevant resources faster.
VALUE DELIVERED
Liquid Robotics gained a modern Customer Portal built around usability, security, and long-term growth. A streamlined information architecture makes resources easier to access, while reusable design patterns provide a consistent foundation for expanding the portal as customer needs evolve.
Making customer resources easier to find
We started with the portal’s structure, using wireframes to organize content around clear customer needs. By resolving hierarchy and navigation before moving into UI, we created predictable paths to documentation, training, support notices, and other resources.
A stronger foundation for a faster customer journey
We mapped key portal sections and user paths through wireframes first, allowing us to test structure before investing in visual design. The result was a clearer information architecture that reduced unnecessary steps and made important resources easier to locate.

Reusing proven patterns without limiting the portal
We leveraged the broader Liquid Robotics design system while adapting its components to the portal’s functional needs. Shared visual patterns created consistency between digital touchpoints and gave the team a reusable foundation for building new portal content.

Faster Iteration and efficiency improvement
AI-assisted workflows supported our development process, helping the team move faster through implementation and iteration while keeping design and development closely aligned. Each output remained subject to our standard development and QA process before delivery.
A customer experience designed within enterprise constraints
Security requirements shaped the portal from the start. The solution was developed to comply with Liquid Robotics and Boeing policies, including requirements related to proprietary information and ITAR/EAR export controls, while maintaining a straightforward experience for customers.

Technical Resources Without the Friction
We kept the interface clear and functional, using strong hierarchy, search, category-based navigation, accordions, and support modules to make dense resources easier to navigate. The result balances the needs of a technical audience with a modern and approachable customer experience.
